Raisely helps nonprofits across the world bring their fundraising ideas to life. We’re a purpose-driven remote team, spread across 7 countries and 17 cities.
We’re looking for a Business Development Lead to deliver our business acquisition strategy in the UK and Ireland, manage the full sales funnel and excite & engage new customers to use Raisely by growing our customer base, so we can continue to deliver best in class fundraising solutions to charities in this region.
By joining our team, you’ll not only get to deepen your cold outbound sales skills, your demo delivery abilities and your organisation skills, juggling multiple deals every week, but save lives, save our climate, and support the most vulnerable people in our society.
The purpose of the role is to grow the number of organisations using Raisely, so they can reach their fundraising goals across the UK and Ireland, managing a sales pipeline effectively, handling inbound sales (demo requests), whilst developing and delivering strategies for outbound lead generation. You’ll be supported by a skilled sales team who are delivering similar strategies in other regions, and backed by a marketing team that shares the same goals as you. In addition, we have a first-class customer success team who will support your acquired customers in implementing their first Raisely campaigns. All the Raisely teams work is agile and async, you’ll need to be comfortable with this approach! This role is a mix of proactive(70%) and reactive (30%). It is expected that your outbound strategies will include cold outreach sequences, networking, leveraging existing networks as well as following up on leads from event-based marketing (webinars and conferences) We set the bar high for potential customers’ first experience of Raisely – and we expect you to continue to meet these standards. The values: Like all roles at Raisely, you should be an excellent communicator, believe in the values behind our customer screen, and leave your ego at the door (amplifying others is one of our 3 core values)
This role is a full time 12 month contract role, maternity cover. You’ll be expected to do 5 days/38hrs a week while you’re getting up to speed, then at around 3 months, you will be eligible to move to 4 days/30.4hrs as part of our 4 Day Work Week policy.
We will engage you as a contractor in the UK, with equal terms to our Australian employees.
While you are free to work remotely, we are looking for someone based in the UK and working core UK business hours.
Here’s some things that you might tackle in your first few months. Importantly, we’ll be here to support you along the way.
You have 3+ years of sales experience in a B2B SaaS environment and bonus points if you’ve ever worked with customers in the non-profit section.
You’ll be comfortable delivering demonstrations on a product you’ve got up to speed with quickly, in an engaging and creative manner. You’ll be able to answer customers’ questions from various levels of stakeholders and be able to quickly engage with the wider Raisely team to collate information when needed.
You’re tenacious with outbound sales, not being deterred due to the cyclical nature of this aspect of the role.
You have experience trialling new strategies to convert cold outbound, enjoy diving into the data behind your sales activity and can continue to pivot based on previous activity as well as shifting dynamics within the non-profit sector, and in particular its fundraising technology needs.
You’re relentless with follow up of leads.
You’ll have the skill to persevere through any objections leads throw at you, as well as follow up in an engaging manner to ensure you move leads through the sales funnel, and to a won deal!
You Care About Making a Difference
Yeah, we’re all here because we want to make the world better (and by that we mean a carbon-neutral utopia with world peace and just laws, where all people are treated the same with equal opportunity to thrive). So you’ve gotta want that too!
Ok, and why work with us?
In your first week with us, you’ll be a part of helping vetted charities raise 2.5 million dollars for everything from responding to crisis to curing cancer.
So we can make this happen, we’ve made working here different. You’d be joining a fully remote, global team of compassionate, generous experts – from engineering to sales. We’re async, avoid busywork and keep meetings to a minimum. We work 4 days a week, for full-time pay, and full-time productivity. Once you’re up to speed, a regular week here is 32 hours.
Working at Raisely is unique. You’ll be able to have a direct impact on the fundraising capabilities of charities and nonprofits across the UK, helping them raise more money and deliver their services to those they support.
