How You Will Make An Impact
At thredUP, we’re working to revolutionize the clothing industry and we’re looking for an experienced Software engineer to help join the data engineering team which work on cutting edge technology like Databricks Lakehouse, Airflow and Spark. In This Role You’ll Get To:
- Develop new and support existing applications build on Python and Java
- Ability to write scalable data pipelines that can play with billions of data points across event logs
- Experience writing SQL and knowledge of data modeling, normalization, fact and dimensions
- Manage the Databricks Lakehouse infrastructure
- Helping in maintaining and housekeeping of internal Airflow infrastructure
- Integrate with internal services for personalizing ads and landing page experience
- Autonomy. The ability to make, own, and carry out decisions
- Setting realistic time estimations and accountability for those goals
- Being flexible and nimble to accommodate business needs
- Influencing outcomes. Thinking big. Being paranoid. Speaking UP
What We’re Looking For:
- Professional production-level Software Engineering experience with good system design and design pattern knowledge
- Experience with building scalable data pipelines involving Big Data and Spark in either Scala/Python/Java
- Experience integrating 3rd party API’s with ensuring high availability and proper downtime handling
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and familiarity with Data Warehouse systems or other transactional data stores
- Comfortable working in an agile environment and directly with product owners and end users
- Interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis
- (Bonus) Engineering mentorship experience
- (Bonus) Building UI for internal tools
